This sample page will help you see how an online class is set up. Most people do not work from their computer screens because their computers are not near their sewing/work areas. Instead, they print out the lessons each week - usually about 6-10 pages of lesson in large type and include many pictures which print out with the pages. If you print these out on pre-punched 3-ring paper, all the pages then go nicely into a binder. Notes can be made in the margins, and places hi-lighted. A very large part of what you will learn will be from the Message Board where people ask questions and talk about related techniques or information that is generally helpful. Often, pertinent messages are also printed out by students and added to the notebook. The Message Board is the soul of the class. There is also the picture gallery where class members can have photos of dolls in progress or all finished to share. Try out all of the features by clicking on the "buttons" in the boxes with borders. Note that the three small ones (Intro, Supplies and Bio) are not clickable at this time.

Clicking this button will take you
to the online Message Board
where you will be able to ask questions or talk to other class members once you are enrolled.

Clicking here will take you to my
website for more information or
to place orders for supplies.

The Supplies List, Intro and GW Bio are some of the other buttons (not clickable at this time) available for online classes and these will take you to other material and photos relevant to the class.

This sample lesson page may take a few seconds to download and may also open a blank white page. As long as you get to a page called Lesson One - page 4, you are testing right. If you get this page and can print it, you are set to go.

To view and print the lesson pages, you must have Acrobat Reader installed in your computer. You may need to click the setting in the Acrobat print menu to shrink pages to fit for the page to be completely within your paper size. If you do not have Acrobat Reader, you can click below to get a free version. Without this, you will not be able to do the lessons. If you cannot access the sample lesson, you probably do not have Acrobat Reader or a current version of it on your computer. It is easy to get and free. The whole world uses it and it will be a good tool for you to have. Click on the box below to learn more about Acrobat Reader and get a free download for your computer. Once it is on your computer, PDF documents will automatically use it to open - you will not have to learn a new scary computer thing.

See if you can print out this page so that the scale is the same as shown on the pattern. Do not worry if you do not get the right scale - we will cover this in class.
